AI visibility for barristers' chambers

When a solicitor or a client asks AI which chambers to instruct, is yours named? An audit built for the Bar, not borrowed from law firms.

Two kinds of people ask

Work reaches chambers two ways, and each has its own questions. AI answers them differently, so we ask both and report them apart.

A solicitor choosing counsel

  • Which chambers should I instruct for a clinical negligence trial on the Western Circuit?

  • Who are the leading family law barristers in Exeter?

A client coming direct

  • Can I instruct a barrister directly for an employment tribunal?

  • Which direct access barrister would you recommend for a boundary dispute?

If your set is not in the answer, the instruction may go elsewhere before your clerks ever hear of it.

What we measure for chambers

  • By who is asking. Referral work and direct access, scored separately.
  • By practice area. We write the questions around the work your members actually do.
  • By circuit and city. A set can be named in one city and never mentioned in the next.
  • By assistant. ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude are each scored separately, because they often disagree.
  • Against other sets. Which chambers AI names instead of yours, and how often.
  • With the evidence. Every question we ask and every answer AI gives is yours to read, word for word.

Why the Bar is different

Chambers are regulated by the Bar Standards Board, not the Solicitors Regulation Authority. A set is a group of self-employed barristers, not a firm. And the public can now come direct. Advice written for law firms misses all three.

We have audited a barristers' chambers as well as law firms, so our questions start from how counsel are actually found.

You may have heard this called generative engine optimisation (GEO) or AI SEO. Whatever the name, the first step is the same: measure where you stand today. See how the audit works.

Who runs it

Ezra Woodman, founder of 8eyed

Ezra Woodman founded 8eyed in July 2026, when he realised that AI search is becoming the new Google. Businesses need to know where they stand on it, and how to become more visible. He is a First Class Law graduate from the University of Exeter.

8eyed serves chambers in London and on circuit across England and Wales. Every audit is set up and checked by hand before any result is shared.
